Rob Taylor is a seasoned multi-camera live Director and Editor working since 1988 with experience in various and diverse genres. Having started as an online editor in tape-to-tape linear bays, Taylor has worked with all formats, structures, and systems.  Initially working for the television media Taylor specializes in cutting fast-paced teasers, commercial spots, and trailers along with reality television and episodic series. More recently Taylor has moved into the world of feature-length Documentary film projects for the dynamic range and emotion that is available through complex storytelling and character development.

Live Multi-camera Directing has been a consistent focus of work for the past 10 years as well.  Music and Sports coverage is the primary expertise with the most recent shows being Major League Rugby matches live on CBS Sports Network.  Music projects include large festivals like Hangout Fest, Bumbershoot, Global Dance Fest, Kaaboo and Farm Aid as well as more intimate projects for Universal Music Group.

Before making the transition from short form to long form projects, Taylor worked extensively for Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers, FOX and Buena Vista marketing departments finishing commercial spots, trailers, and promos on Avid Symphony for films including Once Upon a time in Mexico, Charlie’s Angels, Underworld, Spider-Man, SWAT, Hellboy,  50 First Dates and Big Fish to name a few. 

During the early stages of his career, sports programming was the main focus for Taylor. He has edited competitive events for all of the major broadcast networks and many cable outlets as well. Among his many sports credits "NASCAR Racing" for Fox Sports and Speed Channel, "Supercross" for CBS and the "U.S. Pro Ski Tour" for NBC & ABC. Taylor was also a key member of the group that pioneered Extreme Sports Television working from 1989 to 1996 shooting and editing the weekly half-hour series "The Extremists".

From the beginning of his career, Rob Taylor has been on the forefront of digital technology.  As an expert Avid and Adobe Premiere Pro editor, Taylor remains in demand and is called upon to direct, edit and finish scores of projects each year. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Taylor is fluent in Spanish and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Modern Languages from Pacific University, Portland, Oregon.
